WhAT IS CALIFORNIA PROP 65?
The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 is the official title of Proposition 65. The law requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers about the significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These warning statements enable consumers to make informed decisions and hold manufacturers accountable. This law also makes it illegal for California businesses to knowingly release significant amounts of chemicals into drinking water sources.
